Try Wayne's One on One Workshops. One participant, one instructor. Individualized attention. Each workshop is about you. Learn with no worries of other participants knowing more or less than you. Get answers to the questions you would never get to ask in a large group setting. They are held in southeastern Wisconsin, or northeastern Illinois. Within that region they can be held at a location of your choosing or have Wayne take you to his favorite places. Click on the link below to learn more.

For all of you who had to be turned away due to the large attendance at these workshops, please consider attending a different educational or entertainment program at Hawthorn. They are worth while and Hawthorn needs your support.
instructors. He has been a photographer for 35 years, a nature photographer for over 20, and has been leading workshops for 15 years.
Wayne has been published in dozens of major publications with well over 1,000 total credits.
Previous locations in Door County, WI (flowers and historic lighthouses), Chequamegan National Forest, WI (fall landscapes), Horicon Marsh NWR, WI (birds), South Dakota Badlands (landscapes), and Custer State Park (wild mammals) are being considered as well as several new locations. See below.
Wayne's first group workshop of 2008 will be held on the shores of Lake Michigan at either Racine or Kenosha Wisconsin's lakefront. Which location will be decided soon. This will be an afternoon group event with a maximum of 6 participants. Birds will be the subject at hand. We will work on bird portaits, but capturing behavior and action will be the center piece of this workshop. Learn how the pros do it. Wayne does almost all of his bird action with manual focus and no Image Stabilization or Vibrationreduction. This fact makes him one of the best at teaching action whether you have the previously mentioned benefits or not. As always film and digital photographers are welcome. The cost is $80.00 per person. Inquiries can be made via e-mail below, or you can reserve your spot by using the buy now button below the e-mail button.
We look forward to seeing you in February.

Indoor/Outdoor Bird & Nature Photograhpy Group Workshop
Plans for our second 2008 group photography workshop have just been finalized.
This workshop will be held at a Kenosha, county nature sanctuary. We have the use of an indoor meeting room as well as all the beauty of Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary. We will meet indoors to talk about photography and possibly show some pictures and discuss how they were made. If you like, you can also bring your own photos for review. That's not all. We will travel outdoors to make pictures at Hawthorn's natural and beautiful bird feeders to refine our skills at the art of bird photography. For those of you who would like we can also take a trek into the woods for some good old fashion Wisconsin winter landscape photography.
Photographers of all skill levels are welcome but this workshop is probably suited best for the intermediate photographer. Bring your cameras and bring your questions for Wayne. He loves what he does and he loves sharing what he knows even more.
The cost is $80 per person. You can buy now using the button below or e-mail Wayne with any questions you may have.
Prepare to start the season right and we will see you on March 22.
